SECS- SEMI Equipment Communication Standards.
Definition:
It is a computer- to - computer communication protocol intended to assist in automation of electronics manufacturing.
- SECS allows computer- controlled process equipment, from a variety of vendors, to communicate using standard and consistent protocol with various types of Host computers.
- Consist of two Standards ( Up to 1987):
SECS-I: Defines SECS message transfer over RS 232 connection ( protocol)
SECS-II: Defines SECS Message contents, using streams and functions.
